Frequently Asked Questions

are you actually doulas?

No, we are not doulas, and have no medical, doula, or healthcare training or certifications. We are men who have navigated the pregnancy and birth journey, and want to come alongside other men with the resources and support we wish we had!

Why “Doula dad”?

We want to emphasize our focus on birth partnership vs. fatherhood. There are so many incredible resources for fatherhood already out there, but there are very few resources for men who want to support their partners with excellence throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. We believe that the best thing a man can do for his child is to love the child’s mom - and what better way to do that than to be an excellent birth partner?

What support do you provide?

Our support fits into three categories: Resources, Conversations, and Crews. We connect men to existing resources (and also create some of our own) focused primarily on knowledge and learning. We foster conversations via the Doula Dad podcast with other men who have navigated the birth partnership journey, as well as medical professionals who can provide practical advice, tips, and encouragement. Lastly, Dad Crews offer men in Denver, Colorado the opportunity to participate in a cohort-style community with other men who are on the same stage of the journey

How can I get involved?

If you’re a man, visit the resource library, sign up for an upcoming Crew (if you live in Denver), or take a listen to our podcast on Spotify! If you aren’t sure where to plug in, go to the Contact page and reach out - we’d love to chat more about how we can support you.

If you’re a woman, getting your man connected to a Dad Crew can be a great gift! You’ll benefit because he’ll have more support to support you.

If you have an online birth course or run an organization/program with alignment, visit our Contact page and submit a Contact form. We’ll reach out ASAP!
